MS107: Tour Stories with Raul Malo of The Mavericks
In this first in a series of “Tour Stories” episodes, Scotty sits down with Grammy Award winner, Raul Malo, from The Mavericks to talk about his experience while performing and filming the PBS documentary, Havana Time Machine, in Havana Cuba.
The “Tour Stories” min-series of episodes of Music Stuff with Scotty Huff feature interviews with recording artists where they tell stories of experiences while on the road. This first episode features Raul Malo from the Grammy Award winning band, The Mavericks. He talks about the recent trip the band made to Havana Cuba as part of a PBS documentary called Havana Time Machine. As a Cuban-American, this was more than just an exciting trip to a new place, but a glimpse into his heritage.
The Mavericks & Mono Mundo
Raul mentions a band he discovered while in Havana, Sweet Lizzy Project. This is one of the first artists signed to The Mavericks’ new record label, Mono Mundo Recordings. Give them a listen and stay tuned for new music their working on with Raul and the gang.

I watched the PBS documentary and loved it. This was great to hear the backstory on the trip. Raul can count me as one of the thousand ready and excited about going down to Cuba to experience it for myself.
Thanks for posting this interview.

At the end of the video is the name of a tour company offering music tours. Is possible to get the name of that tour company?
